CBI RESIDENCY
MAY - JUNE 2024
Communities Between Islands Residency will take place between May and June 2024. Three Mediterranean and international artists have been invited to experience a 5-week residency program that will enable them to travel from island to island, meeting communities around Syros and the Cyclades Islands, the Nebbio region in Northern Corsica and the Sulcis Iglesiente region in southwest Sardinia. They will produce works of art and create workshops that will then be promoted by each organization and each island.
The project is based on the conviction that we need to strengthen cultural exchanges with our neighbors and open up our horizons by reviving the trans-island dialogue that has been the cement of our Mediterranean culture for millennia.

It’s also the first book to be published by Permanent Draft, an all-female record label and micro-press founded by Chiarello & musician Valentina Magaletti, dedicated to promoting contemporary female, non-binary and transgender artists.
Basta Now is essentially a huge (yet admittedly not definitive) overview of 2,371 womxn in the global experimental sound & music scene. It’s been written in playful and compelling prose and stylishly presented with photos, illustrations, and discographies.

OOH SOUNDS
Sharp strands of disintegrated string samples gradually pull together; celestial multi-tracked voices gather and thudding drums sketch out a spontaneous ritual routine; timeline and drone form a crawling impressionistic narrative. The first collaboration of Rupert Clervaux and Dania stretches across a single momentous 77-minute piece, combining languid drone with bursts of improvised vocals and percussion. The constituent pieces fuse together to form an exceptionally delicate epic that defies simple categorisation, combining the choreography of repetition and grids with ecstatic passages of their respective lead instruments.
